The Ethics of Public Private Food Partnerships

Oct 16, 2013, 4:00am - 6:00pm

Join the John Glenn School of Public Affairs on World Food Day for a presentation that spans food safety, nutrition  and sustainability.

A key element of the ongoing discussion of food ethics in the US and elsewhere is the appropriate balance of public and private research, development, certification and control in the food supply. Can private organizations be trusted to invest in socially desirable new products, farming practices or processing techniques? Is a more efficient blend of government oversight feasible or optimal if based on a non-government third party review of a food firm?
